International Relations in the Cold War era were dominated by the clash of the two global superpowers. The geopolitical and ideological tension between the United States and the Soviet Union defined politics and international relations, setting two polar opposites against each other.

The West was set upon a path of fierce anti-Communism, while the East was fervently opposed to the imperialism and bourgeoisie of the Western capitalist world.

This module will introduce you to the nature and evolution of global politics between 1945 and 1989. You'll examine the origins and development of the Cold War and the role of principal global actors during it. Plus, you'll look closely at various key events of the era and assess their importance to the geopolitical landscape both at the time and moving forward.
