Business Project (Human Resource Management)
Module code: MN3203
For the MN3203 Project (HRM), students will focus on addressing a real-world business problem. Students are required to choose and make contact with a company of their choice with whom they will create several research questions to be addressed in a 10,000 word project report. This will involve diagnosing a Human Resource Management problem, devising a research project that will provide an evidence-base for the evaluation of solutions and development of realistic, acceptable recommendations for action. Alternatively, the research might involve using secondary data in the form of document analysis, a re-evaluation of secondary datasets or a combination of both. The module gives students the opportunity to develop their project and stakeholder management skills as they will be interacting with external clients to address objectives and deliver a report to a deadline. It also allows students to demonstrate their writing, critical analysis, and research skills as they gather, organise and evaluate a range of literature on a subject of their choice.
Topics covered:
- Interacting with a business or organisation
- Literature review
- Research ethics
- Fieldwork and managing your project
