What happens to a criminal case once the police have investigated? This course looks at the role of the prosecutor and criminal courts in England and Wales. As well as examining the legal rules that govern the process, you'll consider how prosecutions and trials work in practice. Throughout there will be a focus on how prosecutions and criminal trials, both in the magistrates and the Crown Court, impact on defendants and victims. Human rights will provide one of the lenses through which we view the balancing of the various rights and interests in play in the criminal justice process.
