Family Law

Module code: LW3250

Family law issues have attracted much public debate and have increasingly been recognised as key areas for legal scholarship. This module questions the problematic definition of what constitutes a ‘family’, while touching upon wider socio-legalistic perspectives.

Your independent research will lead you to critically analyse the legal and non-legal interventions upon families and children, where you can explore such topics as adoption law and international child abduction. During this module you will contemplate the direction of the legal regulation of family relationships, and areas in which family law is yet to develop.
