Documents of the History of Art

Module code: HA2319 (double module)

This module will introduce you to a range of art historical documents, from artist’s notes, sketches, diaries and letters, to biographical accounts and avant-garde manifestoes. You will learn how to engage with, and interpret these documents critically and productively, assessing their terminology, values, agenda and audience address.

This is a double-weighted module. Additional workshop will allow you to study the art historical documents encountered in HA2219 in greater depth and from different critical perspectives.
