Geographical Information Science

This module provides an introduction to geographical information science and also to geospatial technologies more generally.

We'll consider opportunities presented by GIS in both physical and human geography domains. The module will cover different styles of mobile digital data collection in addition to 'traditional' quantitative GIS representational and analytic methods. We'll also explore qualitative digital locative representation (for example, techniques incorporating audio and visual materials). There will be a choice of practical project, allowing you to focus on your preferred methodological approach.
