War, Trauma and the Novel
Module code: EN3105
This module invites students to read, think and write about a selection of contemporary novels focussing on the representation of war trauma. Ranging across continents and conflicts, from the Sino-Japanese war of the late 1930s to the Second World War, and from ethnic conflicts in West Africa to the global ‘war on terror’, the module will help to foster a broader understanding of the effects of conflict in the modern age.
