This module will equip you with advanced knowledge and skills in designing feedback control systems that maintain performance, despite the presence of uncertainties. You will learn to recognise various norms for signals and systems, characterise uncertainties in LTI systems, and evaluate robustness measures, such as stability margins and peak sensitivity. The module emphasises the trade-offs between robustness and performance, considering industrial constraints and future developments in control methods. Through hands-on design using H-infinity concepts, you will construct and critically evaluate controllers, preparing you for real-world engineering challenges.
