Fluid Instability, Transition, and Turbulence
Module code: EG4115
In this module you'll learn how to calculate the performance of a gas turbine (jet) engine, specifically the turbofan engine used on large civil aircraft.
You'll use this to design key parameters of an engine, and you'll be able to explain how engines are designed and tested to be safe, how the high temperatures in the engine are managed and how the components are protected. You'll also discover how future engine developments are likely to influence aircraft design and performance in the future too.
