Your dissertation is your opportunity to develop an independent criminological research study, on a topic of your own choosing. During your dissertation, you’ll demonstrate intellectual independence in the setting of research tasks in response to criminological questions. In doing so you’ll read and reflect contextually upon criminological texts, while assessing the appropriateness of the evidence and methods used in criminological studies. You’ll then be able to formulate and develop criminological questions, before identifying and analysing criminological information.

Ultimately, undertaking your own research will enrich your time management and self-organisation skills, whilst enhancing your ability to design, research and present a sustained and independently conceived piece of criminological research.
