In this module you will learn fundamental theoretical aspects of bacteriology, including culture techniques, energetics, grouping of bacteria, infectious diseases and industrial uses of bacteria. You will also gain practical experience in the techniques for aseptic handling of bacteria. We will consider bacteria as complete entities rather than as sources of biological material.
A week-long field course forms part of this module.
