Guided Research in Archaeology

Module code: AR7061

The module can take many forms and is designed to enhance your independent research skills through the guided design and execution of a research project.

The topic will be negotiated and agreed upon by you and your supervisor, and will give you the chance to explore a subject that interests you. It could be a laboratory-based materials analysis project based on fieldwork, be an extended research question centred paper, or another format.

You’ll be investigating your chosen topic by weaving together theoretical overview, analysis and critique. This help you to piece together the complex and often contradictory relationships between data, methodology, theory and interpretation in archaeology.
