Dr Christine Rauer is Reader in Medieval Literature at St Andrews University, specialising in the vernacular languages and literature of Britain, Scandinavia and the near Continent in the early middle ages. Her current research focuses on the literature and language of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia, in which Brixworth was located.
