Media and Communication at Leicester
Societies
Leicester offers many opportunities for you to get involved in activities outside of study and joining societies is a great way of meeting like-minded people, having fun and trying something new.
You can develop plenty of skills relevant to the media industry with the University's highly active student media team - get involved with our student radio station Galaxy Radio, our TV station LUST, or join our student magazine.
Media and Communication Society
The Media and Communication Society is the academic society for all students who study Media or have an interest in the subject. The society arranges activities and events throughout the year to allow students to socialise with their peers. As well as arranging socials, the Media and Communication Society Committee also works closely with staff within the School of Media, Communication and Sociology to arrange careers talks and experiences.
Our students say...
I’m a member of the Leicester University Student Television (LUST), now doing a documentary about the UK in a foreign eye. I am one of the presenters and I really enjoy being a member of LUST.
I work for the student engagement team in the University. My job varies, as different events require me to do different jobs.
I joined our department society in my first year of study, and went on a trip to BBC and a couple of social events organised by our society. It is the society related to our course and I enjoy every session they do.
This year I joined the LUST society, and it's helping me get to know the basics of TV production.
