Creativity, activism and social change
Thursday 27 April 2017
On Thursday 27 April we’re bringing together publishers, activists, cultural practitioners and academics to discuss creativity, activism and social change. We’re asking what challenges and opportunities are there for politically-engaged creative producers and activists working in cultural production at a time of austerity and political crises? And what sets such cultural production apart from other kinds of creative practice, cultural work and activism?
- Anni Movsisyan from the activist collective sorryyoufeeluncomfortable
- Jess Bain on Pussyhats
- Marc Herbst from Journal of Aesthetics and Protest
We will also be launching the first PLANK (Politically Led Art & Networked Knowledge) zine "Techniques of Art and Protest".
The event will be held at The Exchange, Leicester.
