Friends of the Garden holiday 2022
Gardens of the Tamar Valley, South Devon

To follow our very enjoyable stay in the Lake District in June 2021, the Holiday Team are re-instating the cancelled tour to the Tamar Valley. We will be visiting the following varied and interesting gardens:
- Bristol Botanic Garden
- Tyntesfield
- Lukesland
- Saltram (National Trust)
- Buckland Abbey (National Trust)
- Wildside
- The Garden House
- Cotehele (National Trust)
- Burrow Farm Gardens.
Once again, we have asked Success Tours, specialist organisers of group travel, to make the arrangements. They have recommended the AA 3-star Bedford Hotel in the market town of Tavistock, gateway to Dartmoor National Park.
Travel will be with our favourite Paul Winson Coaches of Loughborough. Departure and return will be at Glebe Road, Oadby LE2 2LD. Please note the dates, 9-12 June, delayed due to the Queen's Jubilee bank holiday.
The cost for travel, three nights' dinner, bed and breakfast, and admission to all gardens, (including gratuities for tour manager and coach driver) will be approximately £492 per person, with a supplement of £75 for single occupancy of a room. This is around a 10% increase on the original tour planned for 2020, largely due to hotel rates which have risen throughout the country following lockdowns and the increased demand for UK holidays.
To improve efficiency, control costs and help the environment, Success Tours have replaced paper brochures and booking forms with an on-line system.

This holiday has booked up very quickly - within a week of going on sale - but at 1 February there is just one person on the stand-by list. Last year there were 15 people at this stage but they all eventually joined the holiday. If you would like to have a chance of travelling with us to Devon in June, why not register for the wait list?
