Relationships in an Ecosystem - Learn about the interdependence of holly trees, holly leaf miners and blue-tits

Photosynthesis - Collect a range of leaves, see their adaptations and look at variation in stomatal types using microscopes

Natural Selection – conduct practical simulations that shows how only the better adapted individuals survive. Activities involve camouflage and the different shapes of bird-beaks

Adaptations - Compare plant adaptations in desert, tropical rainforest, alpine (cold environment) and temperate woodland. Examine carnivorous plant adaptations. Pond dip to discover adaptations in pond life

Maths – a series of fun, practical and investigative activities indoors and out covering a range of different maths topics: choose Fibonacci Fun or our Maths Trail

Botanica Workshop (citizenship) – a simulation exercise based in a developing country. Students in groups take on citizen roles and consider whether this country should host an international sporting event. Presentations, debate, voting and linking to real life examples. Can also be delivered in school

Global Fruit Trail (citizenship) – follow a trail around the Garden and take part in a quiz about different fruits, make a fruit kebab to eat and consider a range of sustainability issues in a series of interactive activities. The sustainability activities can also be delivered in school

Team Building – a variety of fun interactive activities, indoors and out, designed to encourage collaboration. Can be adapted to fit the needs of your group
