Bepi and Mio

There are two components making up the BepiColombo mission:

• ESA’s Bepi spacecraft, which will orbit closer to Mercury and will investigate the planetary surface, exosphere and magnetosphere.
• JAXA’s Mio spacecraft, which will orbit at higher altitudes within Mercury’s magnetosphere to measure the dynamics of the magnetic field.
