Profile

Leong Ng studied medicine at University of Cambridge with an Entrance and Senior scholarship at Trinity College. He was MRC fellow at the Radcliffe Infirmary Oxford and lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology before taking up a Senior Lectureship in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Leicester. He subsequently became Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics and headed the Clinical Pharmacology division. He is currently the Precision Medicine theme lead for the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre.

Research

His research involves use of omic and bioinformatic technologies for discovery and targeting of biomarkers in cardiovascular disease for diagnosis prognosis and monitoring of therapy. This research has been in the fields of hypertension heart failure ischaemic heart disease and valvular disease and has been funded by the BHF MRC NIHR EU and the Van Geest trust.
