Profile

I have almost 30 years’ experience in the delivery of distance education at postgraduate level, including the writing, commissioning and editing of distance learning materials alongside the support and tutoring of distance learning students (from a wide range of countries and cultures). After five years working for British Telecom I came to the School to study for an MA in Mass Communications in 1991. Upon graduating with Distinction in 1992 I taught part-time on the School’s first undergraduate degree until 1994 when I joined the School full-time as part of a small team responsible for the development and delivery of a range of distance learning MA programmes, the first of which began in 1995. I am currently Programme Director for the MA in Media and Public Relations (by DL) and the majority of my responsibilities continue to lie in the area of distance learning.
