Profile
I am an associate professor in accounting (teaching focused) I hold a PhD from the University of Derby, I am a qualified CIMA accountant (ACMA, CGMA) and I am a senior fellow of the higher education academy (SFHEA).
I worked in various roles, as an accountant in industry, before joining academia in 2010. I have also been an elected member of my local district council spending time as deputy leader and leader.
Research
I am interested in lower tier local government and looking at it from a councillors perspective as well as a financial perspective.
I am also interested in how we teach management accounting and how we can help students gain skills that employers value and require.

I have experience of supervising UG and PG research projects. The areas I am interested in are management accounting including the education of management accounting, leadership and public sector especially local government.
