Profile

Ellen is a PhD student based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre focusing on self-management support in patients with multiple long-term conditions in the post-COVID-19 era. This project is funded by NIHR Applied Research Collaboration East Midlands.

Ellen started her PhD in September 2021.

Ellen worked as a research assistant (part-time) at the University of Leicester. Ellen conducted screening, data extraction and quality assessment of studies for a systematic review. Systematic review titled: “A systematic review of the maternal health outcomes of women from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.” Project lead: Dr Winifred Ekezie.

Ellen graduated in 2019 with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Manchester and has Master's of Public Health from the University of Nottingham.

Research

Ellen is interested in multiple long-term conditions (MLTC), also known as multimorbidity, and self-management.
