Profile

I joined the University of Leicester as a Teaching Fellow in Criminology in July 2024. I am also in the final year of my PhD at the University of Nottingham. My PhD research is an ESRC funded collaborative studentship with the charity Unlock, exploring university admissions policies and practices for people with criminal records.

Prior to studying for my PhD, I worked within the charity sector and within widening participation and student support at different universities. My research interests focus on access to education and social justice. More specifically, I am interested in the ‘collateral consequences’ of a criminal record and the impact a criminal conviction can have on a person’s life chances, especially their ability to access education.
