Profile

I am an associate professor in applied and computational mathematics in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences.

Before joining the University of Leicester I worked

  • at the University of Oxford (2016-2019)
  • at Pembroke College (2018-2019)
  • and at ETH Zurich (2011-2016).

You can learn more about my academic family here. My Erdös number is 4. My ORCiD is 0000-0003-3309-7657.

Research

I am a numerical analyst and I study numerical methods for PDE-constrained shape optimization and its applications. I am also interest in numerical software. My main project is the open source library Fireshape. You can find a complete list of my publications on Google Scholar.

Supervision

I am happy to supervise projects on the following topics: finite element method, optimization, optimization with PDE constraints, and inverse problems.

Teaching

Press and media

I am happy to discuss the role of mathematics in society and industrial collaborations via student projects.

For an example, see this press release.
