Profile
I am an associate professor in applied and computational mathematics in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences.
Before joining the University of Leicester I worked
- at the University of Oxford (2016-2019)
- at Pembroke College (2018-2019)
- and at ETH Zurich (2011-2016).
You can learn more about my academic family here. My Erdös number is 4. My ORCiD is 0000-0003-3309-7657.
Research
I am a numerical analyst and I study numerical methods for PDE-constrained shape optimization and its applications. I am also interest in numerical software. My main project is the open source library Fireshape. You can find a complete list of my publications on Google Scholar.

Teaching
- MAGIC079: Inverse Problems
- MA3077 Operational Research (also MA4077 and MA7077)
Press and media
I am happy to discuss the role of mathematics in society and industrial collaborations via student projects.
For an example, see this press release.
