Dramatic award
Dr Robert Kenny, University Fellow in French Studies, has been awarded a grant from the Theatre Research Society ‘to acknowledge the significance of his research into François Moylin’ and to provide clerical assistance with the index and editing of his study of itinerant French theatrical companies in England and France in the early eighteenth century, which will be published by Edwin Mellen Press.
Given the importance of Anglo-French cultural relations in his study, Dr Kenny’s referees for this competitive award were a professor of English Literature and a professor of French Literature, a nice example of academic ‘entente cordiale’.
The award will be presented at the AGM of the Theatre Research Society in Bloomsbury on 8 May.
