TEDxLeicester to take satellite technology one step beyond
Some of the innovative and cutting-edge applications that satellite technology and its data are being put to will be explored in a TEDxLeicester event in partnership with the University of Leicester and the National Space Centre.
Their first event to be held at the National Space Centre Leicester, ‘TEDxLeicester One Step Beyond: A Satellite Enabled future’ will take place on Thursday 21 September from 6pm to 9pm with a panel of expert speakers drawn from the worlds of industry, business and research.
The event will be in the format of TEDxLeicester Salon offering audience members an opportunity to engage in conversations with speaker’s through Q&As and audience polling.
In a series of engaging, inspiring and innovative TEDx Talks through the evening, attendees will explore how satellite technology and data is being applied to innovatively solve problems for businesses and the community to take us one step beyond into the future.
Along the way, they can gain a deeper understanding of climate change, glimpse the potential of combining big data with machine learning and experience a revolution in how we can interact with satellite data and images.
Professor Paul Monks, Head of the University of Leicester’s College of Science and Engineering, said: “Satellite data has the potential to change the way we live our lives.
