Leicester passes 4 million readers milestone on The Conversation

Academics from across our University have collectively captured the imagination of over 4 million readers through nearly 230 articles written for The Conversation - setting a new milestone for Leicester in delivering expert opinion in response to topical news.

Recent articles published by Leicester academics cover a range of research areas, including: technological developments that could shape the future, mysteries of Jupiter's Great Red Spot, what could have tipped the EU referendum result in favour of Remain and many more.

The article published by Leicester academics which pushed the total number of readers over the 4 million mark was written by academics Jo Brewis, Andrea Davies and Jesse Matheson from our School of Business and discusses reasons why employers need to recognise the menopause at work.

With a growing community of more than 55,900 academics and researchers from 2,150 institutions, The Conversation is encouraging Leicester academics interested in raising their media profile to become an author and pitch article ideas based on individual research expertise.

Experts are also regularly contributing opinion pieces to the University's Think: Leicester platform, which provides academics and doctoral students with an opportunity to present their independent views on topical news and republishes articles written for The Conversation. Recent highlights have included a number of articles about the policies of Donald Trump and insights into Brexit and the future of the UK.
