Open for applications Midlands3Cities funding for PhD studentships available at Leicester
Applications are now open for Midlands3Cities Doctoral Training Partnerships- a studentship scheme providing research candidates with enhanced mentoring, subject skills training and support in preparing for a career.
On 18 November, an Application Writing Workshop and Guidance session will take place at Leicester. The workshop aims to provide prospective applicants with the opportunity to discuss the application process, and to find the necessary guidance on applications in the early stages. It will be delivered by academic staff, with additional support and information provided by current doctoral students, including AHRC-funded students.
The University of Leicester is keen to receive applications for the next academic year from prospective research students looking to complete a PhD with research focused around arts and humanities topics, which are available to receive funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
Current 1st year PhD students in receipt of funding from Midlands3Cities have made the following comments about their studentships:
Yvonne, a 1st year PhD student in Archaeology, said: “I chose M3C because I admire its output in leading research and I really appreciate the community that grows from the cohort – facilitating multidisciplinary collaboration of ideas and skills.”
Chiara, a 1st year PhD student in Museum Studies, added: “I chose Midlands3Cities because it offers great opportunities for both professional and personal development, in an international and creative environment.”
The deadline for Midlands3Cities applications, which must be accompanied by a University PhD application, is 15 January 2018.
