Leicester PhD graduates debut novel among most anticipated books of 2017

Leicester PhD graduate Dr Sabyn Javeri’s debut novel, Nobody Killed Her, has been included as one of the Huffington Post India’s most anticipated books of 2017.

Nobody Killed Her, which explores the life and assassination of a former Pakistani prime minister, will be published by Harper Collins on 5 October 2017.

Dr Javeri’s short stories have been published in literary journals such as The South Asian Review, The London Magazine, The Oxonian Review, Wasafiri, Trespass, Bengal Lights, Sugar Mule, and in award-winning anthologies and creative writing text books.

She has also received the Oxonion Review Short Story Award and was shortlisted for the first Tibor Jones Award.

Dr Javeri, who holds her doctorate in Creative Writing form the University, currently teaches in the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Habib University in Pakistan.

In 2016, Dr Javeri gave a public talk on creative writing in Leicester titled ‘Literature and Cultural Identity Through Creative Writing’ for the Centre for New Writing.
