Leicester economics researcher reality checks EU debate
A University academic formed part of an expert panel for a debate organised by BBC Radio Leicester on the arguments for and against leaving the European Union.
In the programme broadcast on 21 June, presenters Jim Davis and Jo Hayward put audience questions to representatives of the remain and leave camps while an expert panel, which included Dr Sarah Lemos from our Department of Economics, gave the academic perspective on their answers.
You can listen to the debate in full on the BBC iPlayer (from 3hrs).
Dr Lemos primarily researches on immigration. She's looked extensively at the impact of EU immigration into the UK, in particular Eastern European migration, as well as general research into labour, minimum wage and low paid people. She outlines some of her views on the Brexit debate in the podcast interview below and in a blog post here.
