Leicester champions inaugural city Business Festival

As part of our ongoing ambitions to raise the profile of the University of Leicester, particularly in relation to business and industry, the University is proud to be the Headline Sponsor for the inaugural Leicester Business Festival.

This event celebrates the incredibly diverse and dynamic businesses within the city and county, engaging with local partners to further embed us in the Leicestershire business landscape.

The Leicester Business Festival features up to 60 first class business events throughout the city and county, providing an opportunity to showcase local and national businesses across a wide range of sectors – associating the University with broad set of high-profile local businesses, and increasing our reach at a regional, national and international level.

The University is itself prominently represented at the Festival with a number of our academic and professional service staff giving their time and expertise to further local business opportunities.

The University’s contribution includes an Innovation Showcase of data Analytics at the ‘Big Data is the Future’ event as well as a presentation and networking event exploring ‘Participation in Culture and the Creative Industries’ both on 27 October.

An ‘Advanced Materials Showcase and Open Morning’ on 29 October promises to give delegates access and insight into our expertise, facilities and technologies around advanced materials, including nano, composite and ‘green’ materials.

If you want to protect yourself and your organisation from the effects of fraud and corruption, then the interactive self-defence class ‘Defending Your Organisation Against the Commercial Dark Arts’ on 2 November is the event for you.

‘Developing a local talent pipeline’ on the 3 November showcases how students and graduates from the University can support businesses with their recruitment needs and also aid their business growth.

Finally, on 5 November, our procurement experts will be partnering with the Federation of Small Businesses to offer a half day workshop on finding, competing and winning public contracts.
