Psychology alumnus wins insurance award
A University of Leicester alumnus has won an award for work in encouraging safer driving.
Graduate James Burton (pictured) won the Insurance Times Broker Innovation and Telematics Champion award as part of a newly founded team set up by ingenie, focused on supporting young drivers.
After graduating with a degree in Psychology, James Burton became interested in how psychology and the understanding of behaviour change could be used in commercial settings.
He went on to join ingenie, a young driver insurance brand that uses telematics to collect data on driver style. From this they aim to help young drivers be safer and obtain more affordable insurance by improving their driving skills.
James manages the Driver Behaviour Unit (DBU) at ingenie, which gets in touch with drivers identified from their data to be at risk of crashing. They then support drivers in improving their driving and reducing risk.
