Students tackle the homosexual elephant in the room

Talented University students are bringing a brand new quick-fire comedy to the long-running Leicester Comedy Festival that tackles the insecurities of being in a gay relationship.

Leicester University Theatre's entry into Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival this year is ‘Jeff, Oli & the Homosexual Elephant in the Room’. It features Jeffrey and Oliver, two people who have difficulty coming to terms with what homosexuality is and whether their relationship was, in fact, homosexual.

Their show, which develops characters that the students created for a previous performance, stars Adam Unwin, William Bowers and Ivo de Jager.

The students plan to take the show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival later this year.

There are three showings on 6, 7 and 8 February from 6.30pm at Manhattan 34 in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. Entry is free.
