Team to take on the Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours

A team of students is preparing to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales to raise awareness of mental health issues.

The first year trainees from the Doctor of Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) programme are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge – climbing Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon in just 24 hours to raise funds for local mental health charity Network for Change.

Network for Change specialises in working with adults recovering from mental health issues and operates across Leicestershire.

The team – called Mind over Matter - will start the challenge on Friday 21 August when they set off up at Ben Nevis at 5pm and aim to complete the task by 5pm the following day when they descend Snowdon.
