University hosts the regions biggest student convention
More than 10,000 aspiring university students are converging upon the University for the East Midlands UCAS convention to be held on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 April.
The convention is attended by approximately 10,000 year 12 students from across the East Midlands and beyond over the two days, with well over 100 UK universities exhibiting.
This will be the first time since 2001 that the University of Leicester has hosted the East Midlands convention.
Dr Tracy Carlton, Director of External Relations, said: “This event provides a major opportunity for the University of Leicester to showcase its facilities to nearly 10,000 prospective students from the local and regional area."
A special marquee has been erected on campus and there are also events in the Charles Wilson Sports Hall and Queen’s Hall in the Students’ Union with a selection of seminars in Ken Edwards and Attenborough lecture theatres.
