Aims

At the end of this module, students should be able to:

  • Design software for single-processor embedded applications based on small, industry-standard microcontrollers
  • Implement a software design using a high-level programming language
  • Write a report explaining the software design and implementation process

Learning

  • Seminars, computing exercises, and practical classes
  • Guided independent study (private study with additional support provided in laboratory sessions)

Assessment

  • Computing exercises, including oral defence of work (70%); design report (30%)
  • Resit by examination
  • Students will receive ongoing assessment through feedback on submitted coursework
