Module: EC2036

This module is concerned with furthering your knowledge of modern data analysis techniques. We will cover main machine learning algorithms: clustering and classification. We will also talk about techniques of anomaly detection and outlier analysis. We will learn how to work with text data. A lot of emphasis will be put on efficient processing of data and on design of fast and robust algorithms. Active and informed use of generative AI will be encouraged.

On successful completion of the module, you should be able to:

• Describe and explain the essential concepts and principles of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Describe and explain key concepts of global optimisation, outlier analysis, natural language processing, clustering and classification algorithms.
• Apply and interpret the results of global optimisation methods, methods of anomaly detection and outlier analysis, and main algorithms of natural language processing, and clustering and classifcation.
