Dissertation
Module code: PL3094 / PL3095
You're coming to the end of your undergraduate study, and your dissertation offers you the opportunity to put all your learning into practice by undertaking a substantive piece of research on an issue of your choice.
You'll identify a valid research topic on an aspect of Politics and International Relations that interests you and engage in self-directed research over a sustained period. You will need to locate, read and critically analyse appropriate primary and secondary literature and resources. At the end of the module, you'll present a properly referenced, well-structured dissertation.
Your critical perspective will be independent and fully-formed, and your argument will be sustained and coherent. The ability to manage an in-depth study, self-direct your own research over a long period of time, critique well-established theories and maintain consistent arguments both in writing and orally will be invaluable as you either begin your professional career or continue on to postgraduate study.
