Techniques such as planning, budgeting and costing are omnipresent now, but where did they come from? What are their strengths and limitations both historically and today? This module will allow you to explore this in closer detail.

You'll analyse the impact of new technologies on the organisational roles of management accounting and discuss and analyse their potential implications on management accounting and managerial practices.

Furthermore, you'll discuss relevant debates in contemporary management accounting literature, assessing how these can inform managerial control and decision-making practices within businesses.
