Following on from the 'Editing and Textual Cultures' module in the first semester, this team-taught module explores the topics of literary authorship and authority in their historical and theoretical contexts, ranging from the medieval to the present. In weekly two-hour seminars, you'll engage with topics such as patronage, anonymity, fame and collaborative authorship.
Work for this module involves a formative exercise designed to help you with the assessment. This essay will enable you to focus on a particular literary periods or authors, allowing you to tailor the module to your research interests.
