Embedded Systems and IoT
Module code: EG2231
Embedded systems act as the core components for most of the electronics devices in our modern world, from laptops and mobile phones to spacecrafts and satellites, which enable the path towards the Internet of Thing (IoT). In this module, you will explore the design and application of single-processor embedded systems in real-world scenarios. This module covers topics such as networking, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion, and the use of IDE software tools for building and testing embedded systems. You will learn to design systems that meet performance, cost, and safety specifications while considering environmental and commercial factors. The module emphasises hands-on experience through group and individual projects, practical assessments, and laboratory work. By the end of the module, you will be proficient in documenting your designs, analysing system performance, and collaborating effectively in teams.
