Managerial Economics
Module code: EC3071
This module explores how firms make managerial decisions that affect organisations and individuals in the working world. This module will take a look at the following questions:
- What incentives can employers use to make their employees work harder?
- How can employers screen and manage their existing employers?
- What can firms do to encourage their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to invest in risky but profitable projects?
- How does a company decide on whether to borrow money or to sell shares in the company to investors, and how does private information influence this trade-off?
Understanding these concept may even allow you to identify and recognise potential opportunities if you choose to venture into the world of managerial economics.
