Environmental Sociologies

Module code: SY2102

This module explores the interaction between human societies and the natural environment, as well as examining our knowledge about - and perceptions of - the natural world. The module explores the sociological dimensions of issues such as climate change, environmental hazards, natural disasters, (un)sustainable growth, and the social and political responses to environmental crises. You will critically analyse approaches and debates about these and other issues, with reference to a range of literature in environmental sociology and related fields.
