In this module the key concepts of managing resources within the healthcare setting will be explored, encouraging you to reflect on the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to effectively lead others as you progress in your midwifery/nursing career. The knowledge, skills and attitudes required to manage resources, as well as the key theories of leadership and how these relate to resource management will be explored. You will reflect on your own personal leadership and managements skills and identify areas for future development in managing resources. You will continue to work in small learning sets where you will have the opportunity to discuss and reflect upon your experiences of leadership and resource management in practice with a local midwife/nurse leader, applying this to the NHS Leadership Academy’s Nine Dimensions of Leadership.
