Languages in the Classroom

Module code: ML2060

This module is all about languages in the classroom. You will become familiar with teaching French or Spanish at the primary or secondary level in imaginative and compelling ways to match the learning needs of individual students. Following a series of preparatory workshops, you will undertake a 10-week school placement during the spring term (completing a total of 30 hours in the classroom). You will be supported by generic as well as subject-specific sessions. By engaging school pupils in effective learning, you will develop a greater appreciation of your own subject knowledge, as well as be equipped with key insights into the MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) curriculum. Finally, your training and placement will enhance a wide range of skills, including communication, negotiation, planning, plus organisational and reflective skills.
