This module will give a comprehensive grounding in the fundamental notation and processes in studying human mortality data in an actuarial context. The module provides an introduction to fundamental concepts of mortality modelling that Actuaries use in their day-to-day work. The module first introduces the, followed on by the four basic models of mortality. Different ways of estimation of model parameters from life tables or other source of data are discussed with numerous examples from real life.
