Caring and the Law

Caring and the Law aims to explore whether, and if so how, law is structured around a version of the human person who is an independent, able bodied, autonomous individual. Alternative perspectives are investigated as to what it means to be a person, particularly by ethic of care theorists.
You will explore certain aspects of care in a variety of areas of life and law with different notions of persons as interdependent, dependent on care and vulnerable. In tutorials students will showcase their knowledge through a poster, presentation or written report.
