Contemporary Hollywood

This module will focus on contemporary, popular film. The module will offer an outline of industrial shifts and key movements in recent, mainstream cinema. We will consider the most popular genres in Hollywood and their relationship to the production context. We will also analyse the content and ideology of Hollywood cinema, demonstrating the importance of studying popular culture and what this might tell us about the film industry.
