Initial learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • Critically evaluate competing claims to natural resources in the SW USA, and relate these to wider debates about natural resources in academic geography
  • Analyse different perspectives concerning the 'place' of first nations people in the contemporary SW USA
  • Critically evaluate different 'ways of seeing' the landscapes of the SW USA, relating these to broader geographical approaches to landscape

An additional fee is payable for this module to cover the costs of travel and subsistence abroad.

Student numbers on this module are necessarily capped for logistic reasons. In the possible event that the module is oversubscribed, priority will firstly be given to BA and BA Human Geography students as this is a Human Geography staffed module. A random draw will be used to resolve any further competition for places.
