By the end of this module, students will be able to:
- Outline key features of philosophical approaches adopted with contemporary geography
- Recognise key concepts associated with specific approaches
- Evaluate substantive research studies in human geography in relation to the philosophical context in which they emerged
- Recognise connections between philosophical approaches and the selection of research mythologies and practices
- Outline key features of methodological strategies used in conducting and analysing human and geographical research
- Recognise and appreciate the moral and ethical dimensions of undertaking research in human geography
